Colonel Fizziwig Steampunk Blasters - Review

I've been eying these guys for a while now and the more I looked at them, the more I dug them. These are part of a series of steampunk display props distributed by the Pacific Trading Company. One of the things I find particularly charming about these is the clever theming and backstory behind these props included in the product packaging. A letter is included describing the fictional history of the development of these weapons as though they are the real deal. This is brilliant marketing as it puts their products into context.

I picked up three different designs. One called the "Consolidator,"

another called the "Combobulator,"

and the other called the "C.O.D," which is an abbreviation for "Concealable Ossotronic Disruptor."

The stands are stunning and very Jules Vernian, and perfectly complement the guns. The sculpts themselves are very nice and cast in solid resin, while the paint jobs are just good enough. I personally might retouch them somewhere down the line but they look just fine out of the box.

My verdict, if you're into steampunk or simply like the aesthetic and don't have the time (or skill) to create your own Victorian fantasy weapons, I highly recommend them.

Mayan Themed Wall Relief W.I.P. Part 3

Further refining the sculpt and adding in some initial details and textures (just testing it out to see how it would look) before proceeding on to the outer areas.

Mayan Themed Wall Relief W.I.P. Part 2

Some more work being done on this piece. Here's how it's looking so far...

I decided to use clay rather than an air-hardening compound. If there's enough interest I'll make castings available with an integrated wire-loop for easy wall hanging.

More updates to come...

Item Availability Update

Just wanted to give a heads up that I'm currently casting more Siva Linga Stones (the most recent small batch has recently sold out) as well as more Medallion Display Stands so there will surely be a decent number on hand soon.

In the meantime, as of this writing, there are a limited number of Medallion Display Stands available in both color styles (yellow Egyptian stone, and Aztec gray granite). If you do end up with that dreaded "Sold Out" message, please check back again. Keep in mind that these are hand-crafted and so take time to make, not to mention it's just me making them from start to finish and packaged to be shipped to you.

On a side note, the Idol Artifact Pedestals have been sold out for a while now. The reason being mostly because they are a little tricky to make and take more prep and finesse than the above items. I'm also trying to devote as much time as I can to work on the above items to get them back in stock. Rest assured that these pedestals have not been discontinued. If they were, I'd write about it right here.

I thank anyone who's been waiting for any of these particular items to become available for their patience. Any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email.
